First Off!

I've finally decided to create my own blog, devoted to opinions on just about anything I have aninterest in. I basically made this to throw up little reviews I have on such things as; Music, Video Games, Movies, and Technology.

Alright I guess I'll start off with something I loathe, not that I promote going straight to the negative, but it's something that has been pissing me off ever since its release on June 30th, 2009. Suicide Silence, a death metal band from Riverside, CA. They've just released a new album "No Time To Bleed", now the title alone makes me cringe. There is a lot that is wrong with this album, it dissapoints me to think that they wrote a great full length album in 2007 then this comes out, but not only that it seems they've taken some riffs, and rythms from such bands like; Bloodbath, Cannibal Corpse, and Car Bomb.

Their song "Disengage" has a familiar opening, and verse to that of Car Bomb's "M6" from their album Centralia. Normally I wouldn't be so against taking a style of music and mixing it with their own, but hey when they take the riff's right from the other bands, I just have to complain. Its not to say the songs are horrible they seemed to have tried (musically) to write some strong material that is almost to the point off headbanging, but then it's just repetitive riff after repetitive riff.

Lyrically the album kills me whilst repeating "Wake up, wake up" over 20 times in their song titled..."Wake Up", and "We've been fucking this whore mother earth for awhile, She's a filthy bitch anyway" on their song Genocide, is it just me or is that childish? It's almost like they just threw lyrics together in a matter of minutes. They also have a few songs about straight up getting high, and drunk, what does that tell you? Now I may sound harsh, but I guess I don't find it at all enjoyable when it seems they only tried their hardest on a few songs.

I guess you couldn't expect a grand gesture in their process of writing, and recording music when they post videos of them recording drunk, and high. I find that unprofessional to say the least, and wished they had put more effort into an album that could have been ambitious, and destined for something great. If you haven't listened to their previous album The Cleansing, you should because that album exploits their true talent, it's to bad they couldn't have progressed since then.

The album gets a 5/10 with some mediocre music, and dreadful lyrics the band could've gotten so much more out of their gruesomely heavy style.

You can check them out at www.myspace.com/suicidesilence, who knows maybe you'll like their new stuff.
